Dense Blazing Star

Liatris spicata

This clumping grass-like perennial features a beautiful spike of purple flowers atop a slender 3-4’ stem. While this particular variety is not native to Maine, it is becoming naturalized northeastward, classifying it as a “climate resilient” species. Great for rain gardens and other moist areas!
