Downy Goldenrod

Solidago puberula

Named after the soft, fine hairs on the stems. With larger flowers than most goldenrods, this plant has lovely puffs of yellow in the fall. Often found in sandy soils, this plant thrives in sand plains, fields, and roadsides.
