American Mountain Ash

Sorbus americana

This small tree grows with a rounded crown, and the alternate leaves provide wonderful texture. Multi-season interest includes white flowers in spring, red-orange berries in late summer, and brilliant foliage in fall. Songbirds and grouse eat the berries, and deer and moose browse leaves, twigs, and bark.
